The story behind the work.
Twenty-six years ago, a hospital bed in London brought Louise to a fork in the road. What she chose - and what she built from that moment - is the foundation of everything here.
A MESSAGE FROM LOUISE
The
fork in the road
At my career pivotal moment, twenty six years ago, I was a successful lawyer in a leading law firm in the City of London.
As a result of a major illness and being told I would never walk again (luckily I got better), I set off on an experiment to find what my purpose was on this planet.
I was confronted with two paths, the conform path and the inspiration path. I found that being on purpose meant trusting in the inspiration path.
The thing was that I had no map. Most of the time I had no idea what I was doing. So over the years I created my own.
Since then my life has become an intense laboratory - an in-depth experimentation of what it really means to live our purpose and creating new futures on this planet at this pivotal time. And where I am an intrepid pathfinder, mapmaker and architect both for myself and others.
I learnt that purpose is not a destination but a one of a kind purpose-led adventure - where you chart your own unique course through the uncharted lands of your very own becoming.
At its core it means expressing what is true, unique and new about you - and directing it towards a positive impact you genuinely care about at the pivotal time on the planet.
So that you can take your place, play your part and leave your mark in these times of profound transition.
That takes being willing to excavate and let go of years of conditioned patterns of behaviour that block us from making the impact we yearn for. And to shift from being a good soldier of the old status quo and becoming a brave builder of the new future you want to see.
It hasn't been an easy journey, but definitely a worthwhile one.
Twenty six years on, I make the difference I am here to make by supporting changemakers to be the brave builders of the new future we are tasked to create at this time of systemic transition.
I guide, mentor and catalyse them to rise for, create and lead for a new future — by remembering who they really are, doing what they are here to do and making that difference only they can make.

AS PUBLISHED IN THE BEAUTIFUL TRUTH
"We are trained from a young age to perform. We are told that if we tick a set of external boxes, we will be happy. But our pivotal moments wake us up to the fact that we are climbing the wrong mountain."
With Crisis Comes Clarity
Pivotal moments can be painful. But they can also be transformative.
In this long read published by The Beautiful Truth, Louise explores what happens when life brings you to a fork in the road — and what it takes to choose the path no map has charted yet.

"We can't do anything more for you. It's unlikely you will walk again or make a full recovery." The doctors looked at me, genuinely sorry. As my 26-year-old self lay there in her big, white hospital bed, it felt like life had come to an end.
Just one week earlier, I had been riding the red double-decker bus into work. I was a successful lawyer in the City of London. I had ticked all the right boxes of success — the great career, the comfortable salary, the nice apartment, the perfect boyfriend. But my dirty secret was that every day going into work, I would sit on the top deck of that bus and dig my nails into my hand to stop myself from sobbing.
Underneath the seemingly perfect setup of my life, I had a nagging feeling that something was missing. I just couldn't work out what.
