My personal pivotal moments came when I stopped listening to my inner compass - and found myself in a version of life that looked good on the outside, but didn't feel right on the inside.
How I got there is that I didn't make space in my life to connect to who I actually was, what I was really about and needed to truly flourish.
Hoping that the next job, boss, deal, lover, business or 'save the world' idea... holiday, yoga class, green juice... award for girlfriend, wife, employee - or humanitarian of the year - or promotion... would somehow save me.
What actually got me through is that I stopped the running. I pressed the pause button. I created the space - to regroup, to reflect, to reorient within myself.
That was the radical quiet move.
Because all that busy rushing and mind churning?
It just kept me spinning my wheels… faster.
Not getting me to where I truly wanted - or needed - to go.
So what did I do practically?
I took myself on my own retreats - that I created for myself in a combination of two ways:
*I would go away for a few days on a longer retreat I would put together for myself - somewhere I was drawn to. And I would completely immerse in visualisations, journalling and generally following my own flow.
*I would create a daily retreat practice to tune into my inner compass everyday. So that I could get and stay aligned - no matter what was happening in my outside world.
In essence, what I did is that I stopped trying to counter every wave - and instead... I created the space... To turn inward... To hear what my own knowing was saying. So that I could:
*Return to my own truth.
*Realign with my inner compass.
*And reorient in my true direction.
And ultimately meet this moment - not from Fear, but from Flow.
And this is also what you are being called to now too.
*The Reset: In the context of the collective pivotal moment we are in - you find your place in this bigger picture by taking the time to dig deep into what you are being called to at this time.
*The Lifeline: To respond meaningfully to the waves of disruption hitting us, you create a daily practice that gets you out of the spin and enables you to navigate from your own truth.
And no - binge watching Netflix doesn't count (!)
Because the antidote you are looking for isn't out there. It is in the whispers of the quiet place within - that has the answers that are your own.
