The Inner Roadmap
Aug 15, 2025Chart your own course through the chaos of a world gone mad
Pivotal moments are the times when life as we know it is interrupted. They are usually deeply rare personal turning points. But now, the world itself is being disrupted. And we are all being thrust into a collective pivotal moment - whether we are ready or not.
So what does that mean in terms of how we navigate this time?
A collective turning point - and a personal one
We are in a seismic shift. The world isn’t just changing. It is shaking at its core. And us with it.
We are not just facing a personal pivotal moment. We have come to a collective crossroads. This is much bigger than each one of us. It is a collective turning point.
The systems we once knew are breaking apart. The rules we once played by are failing us. Wave after wave, hitting and rocking the shores of what we thought was safe harbour.
Personal pivotal moments have always been about shaking us to our core, stopping us in our tracks and having us reconsider what we are doing and why.
They are here to wake us up to the fact that we are climbing the wrong mountain. They come in different shapes and forms - whatever snaps us out of our everyday autopilot and has us ask deeper questions about our life and how we are living it.
This collective pivotal moment is no different. But it adds another dimension.
It is here to jolt us back onto the right track - not just each one of us individually, but humanity as a whole.
It is setting up a choice. As humans, will we keep on the destructive march we are on. Or will we remember what humanity is actually meant to be doing here. And fulfil our true potential purpose and impact on this planet.
Off-piste - facing the uncharted
The thing about pivotal moments is that deep down we always know something needs to change. But we don't want to face it. We can feel the niggle. But we resist it. Until a deeper crisis forces us to press the pause button.
That is where we are now - both personally and collectively. In the middle of that perfect storm, designed to break us out of the trance of business as usual. To throw us off the well-marked trail of our nicely ordered life and into the uncharted, off-piste terrain of what we are being called to become next.
That is why the way we have been travelling - in life, work, and leadership - won’t get us to where we need to go now. Because you don't navigate off-piste the same way you do on piste.
We are being called, whether we like it or not, to travel this next chapter fundamentally differently. By making profound new choices about how we relate - to ourselves, to each other, and to the planet itself.
Noticing The Signs
So if you are experiencing any of these signs:
-
You are increasingly out of sync with your own “business as usual.” The old no longer fits. But you can't find what will.
-
You know deep down you are here for more. But you can’t quite name it.
-
You sense that there is something missing, without knowing exactly what.
-
You can hear this simple, quiet, inner call. And you are resisting it.
-
You are experiencing an abrupt ending. Or an unexpected series of challenges that throw you completely off course.
-
You see the state of the world. And you are increasingly asking yourself the question: 'What am I really meant to be doing now?'
Know that this isn't an ordinary crossroads.
It is your invitation to take your place, play your part and shape what comes next - within the greater collective pivotal moment we are in. Whether you are at the start of your impact journey - or have been at this for a while.
Because this time is designed to shake you up. So that you can reorient and travel the purpose-led road that is your own - at this time of system shift on the planet.
You are off-piste now. You have reached the end of one road. And your existing roadmaps won't work going forward.
You are being called to set your own direction into new lands. To chart the uncharted in your own unique way. To build the new roadmaps of what you want to see next.
You will not find the roadmap out there
When life feels unstable, it is tempting to search for a fix “out there” - the new role, the fresh plan, the next destination.
But pivotal moments - whether personal or collective - don’t work like that.
They require that you turn inwards. Because here is the truth: yes, the world holds answers, but not your answers.
When the outer known world dissolves, the only roadmap you have is the one that lies waiting in you.
The one that comes from tuning into the truth of your inner compass, from charting the uniqueness of your internal map, and from allowing your navigation system to weave together the new threads of inspiration that are emerging.
Pivotal moments show you where you are no longer aligned to who you really are and what you are actually meant to be doing now - at this pivotal time.
And if you ignore that, you risk being swept away by the storm.
That means:
The lifeline you are looking for is your own wisdom.
The guide that knows the way is the one within.
The answers you seek need to be forged inside you.
When you feel lost at sea: return to yourself
The problem isn’t that the answers aren’t there - it is that we rarely create the space to hear them.
We get pulled under by the busyness, the noise, the endless list of things to do.
We forget to pause. We forget to listen. We forget to check in with what we truly want now, what is ours to do at this time and what is really calling us next.
That is why both collective and personal pivotal moments can feel so confronting - they interrupt the autopilot. They pull you out of the default track and into the uncharted, where you have no choice but to dig deeper.
They ask you to slow down enough to hear the voice that matters most:
The one beneath the surface, the one that is your own.
The radical quiet move
I have been here before. There were times when my life looked good on the outside, but inside I knew I was out of sync.
Times when I had reached the end of a chapter - or even a book - I hadn’t even realised I had outgrown.
Because purpose is not a destination. It is a series of purpose-led chapters within legacy books we write.
More recently, in this current global transition, my own pivotal moment asked something bigger: to dig deeper into what was truly mine to do now - in service of this collective shape shift we are in.
Each time, what got me through was the same: I stopped running. I pressed pause. I created the space to regroup, reflect, and reorient.
I didn't fight the storm. I turned inward. I listened to that voice inside of me that does know the way.
That was the radical quiet move.
I brought my own truth back online. I charted a path that was uniquely my own. I carved new pathways that only I could imagine.
Because off-piste, in the uncharted, the only roadmap you have, is the one you draw yourself - from the inner depths of the love in your very own heart.
