The Wayfinder

Or how to steer through the chaos - by being true to yourself

There is a lot of change going on out there. And many of us are being impacted.

The normal tools we have been using up until now are not enough. And we need to go beyond what we know.

Here are three pieces that can act as a wayfinder - to help you navigate these unprecedented times.

1. Flipping the Script

We have shifted from a period of relative external stability to a time that is very unstable and volatile. And the external security we once relied on can no longer be counted on.

That means we have to find that security on the inside. By increasing our perception of our own resourcefulness, who we really are, and what we are truly capable of. The key question now is: 'How are you equipping yourself to be resourced on the inside to navigate the storm on the outside?'

Before, we could rearrange the furniture on the outside and things were likely to be okay. Now the whole furniture is being chucked into the ocean.

Where it is steady is inside us - or at least we can create that steadiness. So that we can steer no matter what is going on in our outer world.

2. A Turning Point - Our Pivotal Moment

This is the ending of one book and the beginning of another. And it is happening both at the collective level and at our individual level. We are already on the voyage. Out at sea in the middle of the storm - even though our brains keep pretending we are still in safe port.

This turning point is calling us to a new level of ourselves, our purpose, and our impact - and to take our place in the transition we are in.

The perfect storm of the sustainability crisis, AI disruption, and the upheaval of the world order is shaking everything. And at its core, this is not just an ending. It is also an invitation to step through a new threshold - in a transition we can choose to shape. Ultimately, it is the call to be more of who we are really here to be at this time of shift. And we get to decide how we answer that call.

3. Creating a Way Through

With everything that is going on, our whole system is spinning its wheels in the fight, flight, freeze, or fawn reaction. It is wanting to hunker down to create some sense of security. Yet we need to do the opposite - which is to get creative even in the midst of the chaos.

To do that we have to recenter and create in a new way. Not from the past we are being forced to leave behind. But from the future we want to see next. By shifting from reacting to responding, we start to create new possibilities and new opportunities. We ride the wave instead of keeping our head under the water.

Because we are the cavalry we are waiting for. And every act counts.

And in that, we get to create the future everyday though the choices we make. So ask yourself: What is the future you actually want to create now - both for yourself and for the world at large?

And start navigating from there.

Until Next Time,

Louise

What it takes is for us to remember who we are really here to be, do what we are here to do and make that difference only we can make. By igniting our potential, actualising our purpose and up-levelling our impact through our lives, work and leadership.
