A COLLECTIVE TURNING POINT - AND A PERSONAL ONE

Whether we like it or not, we are in the midst of a system shift - triggered by the perfect trio of the sustainability crisis, the AI disruption and the upheaval to our world order.

We have come to a systemic pivotal moment - a collective turning point, which is much bigger than each one of us. 

This is triggering a completely new level of uncertainty, unstable is becoming the new normal and whether we like it or not, we are now facing the deep unknown.

Pivotal moments have always been about shaking us to our core, stopping us in our tracks and having us reconsider what we are doing and why.

They are here to snap us out of our everyday autopilot and have us ask deeper questions about our potential, purpose and the impact we are having and are here to have.

This collective pivotal moment is no different. But it adds another dimension.  It is here to jolt us back onto the right track - not just each one of us individually, but systemically.

It is setting up a choice. As humans, will we keep on the destructive march we are on. Or instead take this opportunity to start creating a new paradigm of genuine flourishing -  within ourselves, with each other and with the planet itself.

The future starts now.  It is not set - it is yet to be written.  

Yes, we are facing a reckoning.  But there is also hope - because this can also be the dawn of a new beginning.  One where we can choose to create a better future together.

WHAT IS YOURS TO DO NOW?

The future is being shaped as we speak.  

The current chaos is breaking down the rules of 'business as usual'.  

And we are all being called to a new adventure. The choice to either let yourself be shaped by the current forces or to be the ones who shape a new future.   

In essence, we are being thrown off the well-marked trail of our nicely ordered ways of doing things - even if we are still trying to pretend otherwise. And we now have to learn to navigate the uncharted, off-piste terrain of what we want to become next.

The truth is that the way we have all been travelling up until now - won’t get us to where we need to go next. As you don't navigate off-piste the same way you do on piste.

We are all being called - whether we like it or not and whether we are already in the for impact field or not - to travel this next chapter fundamentally differently. By relating - to ourselves, our work, and our leadership in a profoundly new way.

 FROM GOOD SOLDIER TO BRAVE BUILDER

There is no cavalry that is coming to save us.  We are the cavalry we are waiting for.  And this is not a drill.  This is a time of systemic transition.

Beyond the desire to have a positive impact, it means deciding to shape what comes next from your choices, creativity and courage. To take your own place in the system shift.  To play your unique part in this time of transition.  And to create the new world of tomorrow you want to see.

That is what it means to become a purpose-led leader and be the 'transition team' that is now gathering.

To shift from being a good soldier of the old status quo - who sustains, maintains or plugs the gaps in the existing system.  To becoming instead a brave builder of the new future - who fundamentally evolves it by being truly, uniquely and fully yourself.

And that is what we are being called to now.

THE PURPOSE-LED LEADER ECOSYSTEM

The thing is that most of us were trained as 'good soldiers' - not as brave builders who can build a new future.  

And so although we might have expertise in sustainability or other 'for impact' thematics, we are not fully equipped within ourselves, our work or our leadership for the systemic up-level we need now.

Be it to create our own security and prosperity in the midst of the current chaos.  Nor to lead through it so that we transform at the level of depth, speed and scale that will really make the difference now.
